The Ford government’s latest attempted land-grab–Bill 5– proposes to repeal Ontario’s Endangered Species Act and utterly abandon the province’s commitment to protecting wildlife and their habitats, sacrificing them on the alter of corporate profits and hand-outs to big developers, all in the middle of a biodiversity crisis.

Bill 5 also proposes to give unprecedented, undemocratic amd unconstitutional powers to the provincial government through the designation of “Special Economic Zones” which would be above the law, trampling on Indigenous Rights and community consultation.
