Compassion Fatigue?

March 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

It’s such a tragic irony we see over and over again with animal advocates…

You get drawn into working with animals because you have such a tender and caring heart, and then that heart ends up getting PUMMELLED by constantly having a front-row seat to the worst abuses of animals imaginable. 🙁

Empathy overload happens when you’re constantly exposed to the suffering of others without enough resources to properly process this. Compassion fatigue is the depletion of feeling and caring capacity because of empathy overload…and it’s taking way too many animal advocates down.

In this active Animal Justice Academy Lunchtime Live workshop on Thursday, March 13, AJA Director and coach for changemakers Kimberly Carroll will take us through three ways to deal with empathy overload and compassion fatigue:

1. Better boundaries to provide some sanctuary from the constant onslaught of painful situations and stimulus

2. Simple, tangible techniques to regularly process emotional pain

3. A short daily routine to build up your inner resilience

During this online gathering, we won’t just talk about these strategies, we’ll test-drive them in our time together, so you can come out of this session feeling some relief and having

powerful new tools to put to use.

ABOUT KIMBERLY: As a coach for changemakers, Kimberly helps activists, non-profit folks, and mission-inspired leaders and entrepreneurs build the inner resilience and outer strategies to change the world while not losing themselves in the process.
