Animal Rights Toronto was founded in October 2015. At the time, there was a lot of activism in Toronto by groups and individual organizers. Each organizer created their own events, but there was no central location where all the events were listed. A few activists suggested this was needed, and Animal Rights Toronto was born! Events are listed both on our website event calendar and our Facebook event page.
Our first event, on Halloween 2015, included a screening of Earthlings – “the scariest movie you have ever seen” at the 519 on Church Street. Thanks to all the amazing activists in Toronto and the GTA, on Halloween 2025 we posted our 2,423 event!

Event Submission Requirements
All animal rights and vegan groups are welcome to submit their events. All events are subject to approval.
Although the animal rights groups do not need to be vegan, the event does. That is, NO animals or animal products can be eaten, sold or used during the event. This includes dairy, eggs, and honey. If you have any questions, please email animalrightstoronto@gmail.com.
