There is also parking on side streets\, just be mindful of where you can park. Dakota a beautiful young German shepherd was neglected and abused for months on end. Repeated calls to Provincial Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) did nothing. They failed to protect Dakota. Dakota died after being muzzled with plastic bags stuffed down her throat.

The campaign has now launched! \nJoin Mercy For Animals volunteers to demand Sobeys to publish a time-bound plan for fulfilling their pledge to eliminate extreme confinement for hens in their egg supply chain. \nIn 2016\, Sobeys and their parent company\, Empire\, publicly promised to stop sourcing eggs from caged hens by 2025.\nYears later\, despite ruling over some of Canada’s largest and most profitable grocery brands\, Empire retracted their commitment deadline in 2021\, stating that they would not meet their original deadline. \nSobeys promised to publish an updated plan for finishing their transition but has yet to share how and when they plan to fulfill their cage-free promise. \nWe’re urging Sobeys to publish a time-bound plan for fulfilling their pledge to eliminate extreme confinement for hens in their egg supply chain. \nLearn about our current Canadian campaign here: https://empireofgreed.ca \nWe will be at the Sobeys located at 24 Fort York Blvd\, Toronto\, ON M5V\, Canada\, Saturday\, July 19\, 2025\, at 1 PM to inform the public about this issue and hold them accountable to their promise. \nWe will have a banner\, signs\, and leaflets to use the day of. We use standard practice footage displayed on screens to expose the truth about animal agriculture to the public and one on one conversations to educate them about animal exploitation. \nMasks\, signs\, and outreach cards are provided by the organisers. Please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one\, with our standard Cube footage and recommended media player already downloaded and ready to play on a loop. It is important to prepare your device ahead of time. Because each person is uniquely wired and different tactics resonate with different people\, there’s no one foolproof form of activism. \nAfter each session\, attendees are encouraged to participate in a street action to put your new skills and energy into practice (this is totally voluntary\, no pressure). \nSome attend one week\, but can’t come to the next one…just attend when you can. \nPlease feel free to bring a plant-based food item to share. \nLet’s return Toronto and other cities in Ontario to the thriving\, prolific animal activism centres they once were! \nAs the building that houses Wishbone is a heritage building boasting one of the last attendant-operated elevators in the city of Toronto (but only during weekday office hours)\, Wishbone will unfortunately not be accessible to anyone requiring a lift to the third floor.
