SUMMARY:We The Free | Inspiring Behaviour Change - Foundations
DESCRIPTION:This training is an introduction to Inspiring Behaviour Change (IBC)\, designed for anyone who advocates on behalf of nonhuman animals and wants to have more effective conversations with friends\, family\, and strangers. \nIn this course\, we’ll cover the fundamental principles behind IBC and get a practical introduction to how it can transform our vegan outreach conversations. \nWe will cover: \n\nWhy people can become defensive when we challenge their behaviour\nThe key principles of IBC\nHow to use simple questions to help people explore their own values\nHow values can create opportunities for behaviour change\nThe foundations of having more constructive\, inspiring conversations\nHow to handle objections with ease\n\nThis is a beginner-friendly introduction to IBC\, covering the essential concepts and tools to get started. For a deeper\, more interactive and advanced exploration of IBC\, join our IBC Masterclass. \nThe training will be approximately 1 hour\, followed by a 1-hour Q&A session. \nWho leads this workshop \n\nJen Deighan-Schenk She/Her\, Executive Director at We The Free \nJen is the Executive Director at We The Free and has been active in the animal rights movement since 2017. She was introduced to Inspiring Behaviour Change when she joined We The Free in 2021 and quickly made it central to her approach to advocacy. Since then\, she has gone on to train thousands of activists in IBC through regular online trainings and in-person workshops around the world. \nJen has been leading teams and communities since 2014 and has extensive experience developing and delivering trainings. Her background in sales and coaching\, combined with years of putting IBC into practice herself\, has given her a strong practical understanding of how to create conversations where people feel heard\, become open to new perspectives\, and are able to explore meaningful change for themselves. \nMore about Jen Deighan-Schenk \n\nLanguage: English

SUMMARY:Animal Activists Year-End Bash @TheLab
DESCRIPTION:O’ come all ye feisty! Uh-oh…looks like somebody (Vish?!?) has finally given that fur-trimmed red suit the treatment it deserves! (ho-ho-HOLY MOLY!) \nYou’ve marched\, protested\, petitioned\, leafleted\, educated\, advocated\, served up vegan vittles\, and alienated and annoyed your friends\, family\, neighbours\, and colleagues all year long. Now it’s time to put down the placards and megaphones and take a break from saving the animals for a few short hours (don’t worry\, the exploiters will still be there on Sunday). \nJoin us for an evening of good food\, great company\, questionable dance moves\, and partaking in some well-deserved kicking back as we wrap up another year of speaking up for the animals. \nWhether you’re a seasoned activist or a relative newcomer\, we’d love to have you join us (Santa is NOT invited until he commits to going fur-free and gets himself an e-sleigh). It’s a chance to celebrate our collective efforts and recharge our batteries for the tough year ahead. \n🥗 It’s a potluck! Bring along your favourite vegan dish to share. Let’s put together a smorgasbord worthy of the occasion. Please label your contribution with your name\, the name of your dish\, and a list of ingredients (so everyone can enjoy the feast safely). \n📅 Saturday\, December 19 | 5–10 PM\n📍 The Lab | 108 Dundas St. W.\, Toronto \n💚 Admission is free! Donations to Wishbone Animal Rights Lab and The Lab are always gratefully appreciated and help us keep doing what we do. \nWe all know animal rights activism can be serious business…but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a seriously good time!\nLet’s end the year on a high note…together! 🌱🎉
