One of the Presidents at Loblaw Companies Ltd\, Greg Ramier\, will attend the event. \nThis year’s event is centered around the theme “Evolving Retail.” It will discuss new opportunities and challenges in today’s retail world and how the industry and consumers are changing. \nHowever\, Loblaw Companies Ltd has not been fulfilling its animal welfare commitments\, which is a cause of concern for many. Toronto will be joining the worldwide fight for animals this weekend. \nWhere: Louis Vuitton – 150 Blood St. W.\, Toronto\nWhen: 1-3PM \nCloset TTC: Bay Station \nBring signs\, noisemakers\, whistles\, megaphones\, and your passion to help save animals from blood fashion. \nWe never back down and we always win! \n  \n

SUMMARY:Ending Real Fur Premiere
DESCRIPTION:The independent award-winning Canadian documentary Ending Real Fur invites you to a star-studded evening to celebrate the release of the film at this event. Real Fur is an eye-opening investigative documentary about the true cost of the fur farming industry in Canada. It follows the journey of director Taimoor Choudhry as he transforms from being an uninformed consumer to a passionate activist through interviews with animal rights leaders\, changemakers\, fashion experts\, lawyers\, politicians\, and celebrities in an effort to make real change. \nReal Fur differentiates itself from other documentaries in that it offers audiences the tools to enact change while also providing a final vision of hope. In the making of the film\, Taimoor Choudhry and Real Fur have become associated with various animal justice groups across Canada and internationally\, such as: The Fur-Bearers\, Animal Justice\, Last Chance for Animals\, and PETA\, who have closely supported the film. \nhttps://www.realfurfilm.com \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/realfurfilm/?hl=en \nFacebook: https://web.facebook.com/realfurfilm \n  \n

SUMMARY:Toronto Pig Save weekly vigil for the Pigs
DESCRIPTION:Don’t turn away. Please join us to bear witness to\, and to speak up for\, the thousands of baby pigs whose lives are needlessly and violently stolen from them daily at Fearman’s slaughterhouses. \nPlacards\, leaflets\, support are provided.\n——————————- \nPlease read these vigil and safety notes prior to attending. \n☮️ Keeping Save Movement vigils peaceful. \n1) The purpose of Save Movement vigils is to bear witness\, to see the reality\, to connect\, to document\, then to share with others. To bring peace to a violent space. Disruptions can take place at a different time. \n2) Truck Drivers:\nThough we don’t respect what they are doing for a living\, let’s respect the drivers for giving us this time to show the world the plight of farmed animals. \n3) Slaughterhouse Workers:\nSome workers may try to taunt (though rarely anymore). Offer a wave or peace sign instead of a negative reaction. Break the cycle of violence. \nKeep Arms out of the truck: \nWe’ve experienced a few serious injuries from vigil attendees putting hands/arms into the truck. Please avoid the temptation to reach inside for the following reasons: \n1) The truck may suddenly move\, trapping/taking you with it. \n2) Pigs are extremely large and heavy beings. Though they may not intend to hurt\, a human arm may frighten them and simple movement can crush or break bones. Instead\, offer your hand just at the opening of the truck. Some pigs will choose to come to you and sniff/lick your hand. \n3) Fear. Many of these beings have not known kind human hands in the past. This may cause them stress. \n❤️❤️ Thank you for your understanding and for coming to bear witness and to be their voice. Please bring a friend. They desperately need you.

SUMMARY:2 BACK-TO-BACK DEMONSTRATIONS IN PETERBOROUGH

Please – join us if you can! \n2:00pm-3:30pm at MPP Dave Smith’s Office\n864 Chemong Rd.\, Peterborough\, ON\, K9H5Z8 \n4:00pm-5:30pm at MNRF Offices\n300 Water St.\, Peterborough\, ON\, K9J3C7 \nThe purpose of our attendance is three-fold:\n1) to bring attention & public awareness about the MNRF’s grotesque actions on Sept 26th with our presence\, protest signs\, displays\, & information handouts. There will be a few extra signs & lots of information handouts available.\n2) to provide as many people as possible with the easy-to-follow Action Steps so that they may have their voices be heard on this matter.\n3) to apply pressure to the MPP & MNRF by making them aware that our passion for this issue is not quieting down\, and that the public is still demanding answers about the well-being and future plans of all of Mally’s raccoons. \nPlease – no blocking people or traffic\, no following people\, no swearing\, no accosting. It’s important that we maintain the public’s favour of the raccoons and Mally’s. \nDave Smith’s office is located in a strip mall plaza with lots of parking.\nThere is plenty of street parking all around the front entrance at 300 Water St\, Peterborough\, including Accessible parking directly in front.

SUMMARY:Animal Victims of War Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:We hope that you will join us for a peaceful ceremony remembering the animals used in war both past and present at the Toronto Peace Garden at City Hall in Toronto. We will gather for about an hour or so and share a few words in honour of the animal victims of the brutality of war. \nWe brought the Animal Victims of War purple poppy campaign to Canada to ensure that the tens of millions of animal lives lost to war are recognized as victims and not heroes. The purple poppy campaign is a complimentary or alternative poppy to the red poppy of the Royal Canadian Legion. It is not meant in any way to undermine or reject the red poppy and its symbolism of the human lives who served and died in war. It is a way for people to recognize the significant loss of animal life that is not represented in symbol or ceremony of the red poppy. \nIf you would like\, you can buy a Purple Poppy pin through the website link below: \nhttps://animalsinwar.ca/ \nWe look forward to seeing you on November 11th. Please let us know if you have any questions at all. \n

SUMMARY:Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Outreach Event
DESCRIPTION:Part 3- Join us for our last peaceful outreach event outside the Royal Agricultural Fair. The objective is to inform passersby and the public entering the fair that: \n1. This Fair is industry propaganda and not to believe the ‘happy farm animal’ lie.\n2. Most of the animals they see in the fair will suffer a terrible death at a fraction of their natural lifespan.\n3. Ask them to watch Dominion to see the truth.\n4. Encourage them to consider visiting sanctuaries if they truly love animals. \nExact location will either be at the corner of Strachan and Lakeshore (Princess Gate) or closer to Medieval Times. Will post exact location on the day. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Call to Action - Email to NOVA SCOTIA Members of Parliament
DESCRIPTION:***Each week\, a different province or territory will be the focus of our call to action. We’re almost there! \nRecently\, bills C-47 and S-5 became law. The parts of these two bills pertaining to animal testing will prevent millions of lives from being bred into an existence of exploitation. With the passing of these two bills\, Canada has become a leader in the fight against vivisection\, which we hope will lead down the path toward a total ban on animal testing across all industries. \nEach year\, millions of animals are used and tortured in post-secondary institutions around the world and according to new research commissioned by the Animal Alliance of Canada Fund (AAC Fund)\, 8 in 10 Canadians want post-secondary institutions to stop using animals for educational purposes\, research\, and testing. \nIn 2021\, University of Toronto alone used 159\,803 animals from 161 species. \nIt would be in the best interest of post-secondary institutions across the country to heed these findings and move toward transitioning to non-animal research methods. \nPlease take a few seconds to send a pre-written email to Nova Scotia Members of Parliament\, asking them to build on the momentum of passing bills C-47 and S-5 and introduce a new bill that will ban all post-secondary institutions from using animals for educational purposes\, research\, and testing. All executives in the animal research department at University of Toronto will be bcc’d on the email. \nThe email link will be posted on November 8 at 8 a.m. in the discussion section. \nThank you.

SUMMARY:Peaceful Rally for Mally's at Queen's Park Toronto
DESCRIPTION:On September 26\, 2023\, close to 100 raccoons were unjustly and inhumanely seized by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) from Mally’s Third Chance Raccoon Rescue; a family-run\, primarily volunteer-operated\, licensed non-profit wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre (responsible for 100% of their own fundraising\, as no government support is provided for Wildlife Rehabilitation in Ontario). \nThe MNRF terrorized the rescue operators\, community volunteers and the precious raccoons when they took a heavy-handed and aggressive approach with a full-scale raid. In textbook military fashion\, they assigned and deployed approximately 50 Enforcement Officers\, a plane\, helicopter(s)\, and several drones using your Ontario taxpayer’s dollars. The involved Ministry staff elected to override their own policies\, regulations and agreements with authorized Ontario Wildlife Custodians to initiate and carry-out this ambush and seizure of the raccoons in care\, to which there still have been NO charges laid against the operators of Mally’s Third Chance Raccoon Rescue. \nThe MNRF has continued\, for 4 excruciating weeks\, to stonewall Mally’s Custodian and Manager\, other Wildlife Custodians/Volunteers\, Animal Rights & Advocacy groups\, the media\, and the general public as to why such excessive use of force (and tax payer’s dollars) were employed for alleged regulatory issues\, that could have otherwise been addressed through a simple and random site inspection over the 18 prior months\, where the authorized Wildlife Custodian’s requests for compliance inspections went ignored by their MNRF Rep. \nThe MNRF also continues to stonewall the aforementioned concerned parties with regards to the welfare and whereabouts of the raccoons that were recovering from medical conditions and at various stages of rehabilitation. \nWe are gravely concerned for the raccoons’ safety\, well-being and whereabouts. There has been zero transparency from the MNRF\, just blanketed statements\, and therefore\, we do not know if they are still alive\, if they are being used for research\, or if they have been killed.\nWE NEED AT LEAST 100 OF YOU TO JOIN US TO REPRESENT THE 100 MISSING RACCOONS.\n————————————————————————\nWHERE:\nQueen’s Park\, 111 Wellesley St W\nToronto ON M7A 1A2\nWe will demonstrate in the space across from the Legislative Assembly of Ontario \nWHEN:\nMonday\, November 6 at 12:00pm\nPlease try to bring a hard copy notecard with words of support for Mally’s or a story of how they helped you with a raccoon in distress\nSome signs will be provided\, you are encouraged to be creative and make your own\nFree stickers for kids\nSpeeches\nSpecial performance TBA \nCODE OF CONDUCT: Google doc link\n \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates. \n  \n  \n
