DESCRIPTION:Sobeys is a “Proud Sponsor” of the Blue Jays for giveaways\, posts\, etc. \nThey have been in partnership and boasted this for years. \nThe Blue Jays games are highly attended and offer a perfect opportunity for us to raise awareness amongst a large audience.\nWe will be targeting the Rogers Centre as it located very close to the Sobeys location we’ve been targeting most heavily with demos and tactics!” \nJoin Mercy For Animals volunteers to demand Sobeys to publish a time-bound plan for fulfilling their pledge to eliminate extreme confinement for hens in their egg supply chain. \nIn 2016\, Sobeys and their parent company\, Empire\, publicly promised to stop sourcing eggs from caged hens by 2025. \nYears later\, despite ruling over some of Canada’s largest and most profitable grocery brands\, Empire retracted their commitment deadline in 2021\, stating that they would not meet their original deadline. \nSobeys promised to publish an updated plan for finishing their transition but has yet to share how and when they plan to fulfill their cage-free promise. \nWe’re urging Sobeys to publish a time-bound plan for fulfilling their pledge to eliminate extreme confinement for hens in their egg supply chain. \nLearn about our current Canadian campaign here: https://empireofgreed.ca \nWe will be at Rogers Centre\,1 Blue Jays Way\,Toronto\, ON M5V 1J1. This brutal industry causes terrible suffering\, and it has to stop. \nOn August 14th\, Animal Justice is launching a nationwide campaign for animal defenders to reach out to their MPs about ending Canada’s live horse exports. DESCRIPTION:PaintPix & Chills have become popular\, so we’ve decided to make them a permanent regular fixture at Wishbone. \nEnjoy a relaxing\, enjoyable afternoon and let your creative juices flow freely with Kieran Hayes\, volunteer at Wishbone (aka The Sunday Guy). \nBYOM (bring your own materials) or feel free to use what’s available at the Lab. \nAll skill levels from zero to Picasso are welcome. \nWe are a default-vegan centre\, so if you’re bringing food\, it must be plant-based only. \nAs the building that houses Wishbone is a heritage building boasting one of the last attendant-operated elevators in the city of Toronto (but only during weekday office hours)\, Wishbone will unfortunately not be accessible to anyone requiring a lift to the third floor for this particular event. Our apologies in advance for this inconvenience.

We use standard practice footage displayed on screens to expose the truth about animal agriculture to the public and one on one conversations to educate them about animal exploitation. \nMasks\, signs\, and outreach cards are provided by the organisers. Please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one\, with our standard Cube footage and recommended media player already downloaded and ready to play on a loop. It is important to prepare your device ahead of time. SUMMARY:Vigil for the Animals Who Lost Their Lives to St. Joseph's Hospital
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a peaceful vigil to honor the lives of the dogs\, pigs and rodents who were subjected to painful outdated experiments conducted by St. Joseph’s Hospital. These innocent animals suffered and died and we will remember them and the lives they didn’t have the chance to live. \nWhat to Expect:\n🌸 A memorial space will be set up with a banner\, photos of some of the animals that have been killed\, and flowers.\n🕯️ We will stand in solidarity\, share words\, and reflect with a moment of silence.\n💌 You are invited to bring letters\, toys\, drawings\, or flowers to lay at the memorial. \nThis vigil is not just a moment of remembrance\, it’s a call for change. It’s time that the hospital stops forcing animals to endure highly invasive horrific experiments such as heart heart attacks lasting up to 3 hours\, and commit to replacing animal testing with modern\, ethical alternatives. \nAll are welcome.
