This brutal industry causes terrible suffering\, and it has to stop. \nOn August 14th\, Animal Justice is launching a nationwide campaign for animal defenders to reach out to their MPs about ending Canada’s live horse exports. We need you—your heart and voice—to end this brutal practice once and for all. \n🚨Call to Action🚨\nThis fall\, the Liberal government will introduce a new budget bill\, which can include non-budgetary measures like a ban on live horse exports. Liberal MPs will also gather at an upcoming party retreat. This case raises the novel question of whether a belief in ethical veganism is a type of “creed”\, a protected ground under the Ontario Human Rights Code. \nIn 2023\, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario denied Mr. Knauff’s claim that his belief system as an ethical vegan counted as a creed. Now\, Mr. Knauff seeks judicial review of that decision from the Court.
