SUMMARY:Empire of Greed: Sobey's Breaks it's Cage-Free Promise to Canadians
DESCRIPTION:Join Mercy For Animals volunteers to demand Sobeys to publish a time-bound plan for fulfilling their pledge to eliminate extreme confinement for hens in their egg supply chain. \nIn 2016\, Sobeys and their parent company\, Empire\, publicly promised to stop sourcing eggs from caged hens by 2025.\nYears later\, despite ruling over some of Canada’s largest and most profitable grocery brands\, Empire retracted their commitment deadline in 2021\, stating that they would not meet their original deadline. \nSobeys promised to publish an updated plan for finishing their transition but has yet to share how and when they plan to fulfill their cage-free promise. \nWe’re urging Sobeys to publish a time-bound plan for fulfilling their pledge to eliminate extreme confinement for hens in their egg supply chain. \nPlease always treat MFA organizers and fellow volunteers with utmost respect\, upholding our organizational structure and core values during all events. SUMMARY:Tell Nucro-Technics Not to Kill Their Dogs
DESCRIPTION:Ontario passed a historic law banning most invasive medical research on dogs and cats! Because labs can no longer conduct invasive medical research on dogs and cats once the law takes effect on January 1\, 2027\, we’re demanding that they give surviving animals a second chance at life. But Nucro-Technics is fighting to stop that from happening. \nNucro-Technics has launched a legal challenge against the new law and wants an injunction to stop the law from coming into force. \nAt the same time\, Animal Justice has reached out to Nucro-Technics\, urging them to commit to a formal rehoming plan for any dogs and cats currently in its lab. Animal Justice has offered to help with rehoming before the January 1 deadline\, but the lab did not accept. \nJoin Animal Justice and The Anti-Vivisection Alliance (TAVA) at Nucro Technics in Scarborough to urge decision makers to commit to a rehoming plan. With multiple rescue groups already prepared to house dogs and cats from these labs\, there is no excuse for them not to do the right thing. \nThis landmark provincial ban was won after Animal Justice exposed secret dog cardiac experiments at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London\, Ontario. \nJoin us at Nucro Technics on October 17 to make sure every lab dog gets placed into a loving home! \nBanner photo: Last Chance for Animals
