SUMMARY:Online Panel: What it Takes to End Live Horse Export
DESCRIPTION:Register Now: https://action.animaljustice.ca/page/186884/petition/1? \nHorses hold a special place in Canadian hearts. Yet every year in Canada\, thousands of gentle\, intelligent horses are crammed into wooden crates for long\, terrifying flights to Japan\, only to be slaughtered for sashimi—a delicacy for the wealthy. \nWe came close to banning this cruel practice last year. Then\, with an election and the new Mark Carney government\, the fight had to begin again. \nMomentum\, though\, is building: Various MPs in the House of Commons are working to keep this on the government’s agenda\, but we need more MPs to step up to push a ban across the finish line during this Parliament. \nOur February Animal Justice panel will bring together some of the top leaders in the fight for horses in Canada to share the path forward—and why your action is critical right now as we get closer to finally ending live horse export. \nOur panelists: \n-Jann Arden: Canadian singer/songwriter & head of the HORSESHIT campaign\n-Kaitlyn Mitchell: Director of Legal Advocacy at Animal Justice\n-Alexandra Mendès: Member of Parliament for Brossard – Saint-Lambert\n-Dr. Pamela Corey: Equine veterinarian\n-Sandy Sharkey: Equine photographer & advocate \nHosted by: Animal Justice’s Kimberly Carroll \nWe’ll cover: \n-The political pathway to getting a ban\n-What Animal Justice’s investigations reveal about transport deaths and suffering\n-How to meet with your MP and advocate effectively\n-Communicating about this issue in a compelling\, persuasive way \nIf you care about horses\, join us—and be part of the charge to shut down the live horse export industry for good.\nRegister now to secure your spot: https://action.animaljustice.ca/page/186884/petition/1? \nLet’s make this the moment we finally shut down the live horse export industry for good. 🐴 \n
