SUMMARY:CANADA ABUSES ANIMALS - 2nd Annual Parliament Protest!
DESCRIPTION:Hello Canadian animal rights activists! \nThe time has come! We are planning the second year of our annual event in Ottawa: Canada Abuses Animals! \nThe purpose of this event and protest is to shine a light on all of the legal animal abuse that is still prevalent across this country in a variety of industries. \nThis demonstration is not intended to be anti-patriotic. We love this country and we want it to be the best it can be! But a country that partakes in systemic animal abuse can never be at its best\, and Canadians are fundamentally against animal abuse. \nWe will meet at Major’s Hill\, get organized\, march for 1 hour and then have an event on Parliament Hill itself. \nPlease note: PROTESTS ON PARLIAMENT HILL ARE NOT LIKE OTHER PROTESTS. They can attract more attention\, both from the government and from the media\, which is great. But they also need a permit (which we have!) and that permit comes with rules and regulations. \nEVERYONE PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT\, please read and abide by this Parliament Hill rulebook: http://hill-colline.parl.ca/pdf/CUPH-Rules-e.pdf\nFrançais : http://hill-colline.parl.ca/pdf/CUPH-Rules-f.pdf \nIf you bring something that is not approved in the rules\, we may be asked to leave. \nCoolers are allowed in case you want to pack a lunch. Personal tents\, tables or chairs are unfortunately NOT permitted. \nALL SIGNS MUST HAVE MESSAGES THAT ARE ‘ON THEME’\, such as:\nAll animal abuse should be illegal\nAnimal exploitation is animal abuse\nAnimal mutilation is animal abuse\nTransporting live animals is animal abuse\nGestation cages are animal abuse\nCanada Funds Animal Abuse\nAnimal gas chamber is animal abuse\nElectrocuting animals is animal abuse\nLack of medical care on farms is animal abuse\nAnimal testing is animal abuse\nForced fertilization of animals is animal abuse\nThe dairy industry is animal abuse\nThe meat industry is animal abuse\nThe egg industry is animal abuse\nThe fur industry is animal abuse\nMacerating chicks is animal abuse\nCanada CAN and MUST do better for animals\nCanadians are AGAINST animal abuse\nBe a voice for animals\nAnimal agriculture is animal abuse\nAnimals deserve a bill of rights \nIf you are unsure if your sign matches the event theme\, please check with us! \nI would like people to speak or perform at this event! If you would like to be considered to give a speech or musical performance\, or if you are in contact with a known person who may wish to do so\, please contact us. \nThe dress code for this event is a WHITE top. We will be selling Canada Abuses Animals t-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts this year! \nWe will be renting a bus from Montreal to Ottawa as we did last year\, but carpooling will also be essential to get people there\, so if you have a car with room for compassionate humans\, please say so in the discussion below! \nThe idea is that this event is something we can repeat year after year until animal abuse is no longer part of Canadian culture. I would also like to see it reproduced in other countries one day! Nous planifions la deuxième année de notre événement annuel à Ottawa\, Le Canada abuse des animaux ! \nLe but de cette manifestation est de mettre en lumière tous les abus légaux envers les animaux qui sont encore répandus à travers ce pays dans une variété d’industries. \nCette manifestation ne se veut pas anti-patriotique. Nous aimons ce pays et nous voulons qu’il soit le meilleur possible !
