Ontario’s Ag-Gag Law Defeat Unpacked\, this Thursday\, April 18th\, at Noon – 1pm on ZOOM. \nAcross Canada\, provincial ag-gag laws have made it illegal for animal activists and journalists to go undercover to expose the horrific cruelty that exists on meat\, dairy\, egg\, and fur farms and slaughterhouses. \nOn April 2nd\, Animal Justice lawyers struck down major provisions of Ontario’s ag-gag law\, Bill – 156\, in Ontario’s Superior Court\, charging that the law unconstitutionally violated Canadians’ freedom of expression. \nThis is the first time in Canadian history that lawyers have successfully defeated ag-gag legislation in court\, making it a landmark VICTORY for animals! \nJoin us this Thursday\, April 18th\, as lawyer and executive director of Animal Justice\, Camille Labchuk and animal rights journalist\, Jessica Scott Reid break down the court ruling and discuss what it means for Canadian ag-gag laws in the future.
