SUMMARY:PUBLIC AWARENESS BANNER DROP FOR THE GOVERNMENT'S MURDER OF MALLY'S RACCOONS
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be setting up at the busiest intersection in Peterborough using banners\, protest signs\, literature handouts\, and public outreach (all will be provided by organizers) to share our outrage and disgust over the abuse and murder of Mally’s 87 raccoons at the hands of the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNRF)\, as well as the decades of MNRF over-reach and tyrannical authoritarian-style regulation of Ontario’s Wildlife Rehabbers. \nWe’ll be meeting at the corner that McDonalds is on. \nThere are a lot of fast-food restaurants and plazas with parking lots nearby that you can park in if you’re comfortable with that. \n

DESCRIPTION:Calling all vegan virtuosos\, plant-based poets\, meat-free musicians\, cruelty-free comedians (and all the other entertainment categories for which I can’t think up clever alliteration)…Wishbone Animal Rights Lab is holding its first-ever Vegan Open Mic Night! \nIf you’re interested in being a performer\, please contact wishbonearlab@gmail.com for more details and to sign up. \nDepending on the number of brave souls getting in front of the mic\, we may or may not screen a vegan-themed film that evening. \nOur featured performer is Emmy-nominated TV writer\, author of “Meat Logic: Why Do We Eat Animals?”\, and now stand-up comedian — big round of applause — Charles Horn. \nCover charge of $7+ suggested. Food and beverages available for sale is a definite possibility. \nWishbone is a volunteer-driven\, largely self-funded initiative. Donations allow us to host more community-building events\, develop more programming\, conduct more workshops\, create more content\, purchase more equipment and literature\, and cover our monthly hard costs. \nFYI: The McKnight Building\, approaching its centennial\, boasts one of Toronto’s last operator-required elevators. Meaning that during weekends\, the elevator rests unless a fee is paid.
