As part of World Day for the End of Fishing on March 26th, you are invited to take part in our Ban Octopus Farming global action, by holding protests near Spanish embassies, or near restaurants which serve octopuses.
Spanish company Nueva Pescanova has invested €65 million to build the world’s first commercial octopus farm in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands.
On or around World Day for the End of Fishing, we urge everyone to organize an action outside the Spanish embassy of your city. or outside of restaurants serving octopus.
You can read recent updates to the octopus farming issue here:

We’ve recently been made aware that another Spanish seafood company is entering the race to develop octopus farming facilities.

This underlines the fact that our fight is larger than the one farm and has to tackle octopus farming (and/or all industrial farming) at large.
