Pressure to SHUT DOWN Chick-Fil-A
October 26, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
We are officially starting pressure to shut down Chick-Fil-A in Toronto!
I’m sure y’all have all heard about this article!
If it’s possible there, it’s possible here! Let’s put the pressure on!
Chick-fil-A has a history of being anti-LGBTQ2 and donating money to oppressive organizations. They are also speciesist and use chickens for profit. We are here to put a stop to that. We are here to end all oppression.
We will be asking the public to boycott Chick-fil-A and donate to a local LGBTQ2 charity or animal sanctuary instead (we will have donation jars for these). We will also be asking anyone who supports the protest to join us at any point during opening weekend!
~*~*~ Chick-fil-A and LGBTQ2 ISSUES ~*~*~
— Chick-fil-A has given at least $5 million to anti-gay organizations, including known hate groups and proponents of ex-gay therapy, since 2003, including almost $2 million in both 2009 and 2010.
— Chick-fil-A has a 0 rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, which signifies that the company does not offer one protection, one benefit, or even one diversity training for its LGBTQ2 employees.
— Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy openly admitted that he would probably fire any employee who “has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members.”
~*~*~ Chick-fil-A and ANIMAL LIBERATION ~*~*~
— Chickens are sentient beings who want to live. They deserve the right to their own lives, which Chick-fil-A takes from them for profit.
— Birds are genetically manipulated to grow quicker than natural, leaving many birds unable to stand or walk more than a few steps. Chickens can live 8-10+ years, but chickens used for Chick-fil-A will be killed at 6-8 weeks.
— Chick-fil-A suppliers have been exposed for animal cruelty: http://www.chickfilacruelty.com/
SOME SIGNS WILL BE PROVIDED BUT ALSO FEEL FREE TO MAKE YOUR OWN. NONVIOLENT MESSAGES ONLY.
