Ontario: Protest Maple Lodge Farms Slaughterhouse!
May 28, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Please join local activists to protest the Brampton Maple Lodge slaughterhouse after 25 workers tested positive for COVID-19 and one died. This occurred after Maple Lodge Farms failed to publicly acknowledged positive COVID-19 cases until 20 days after it was first informed of them. While the trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic remains unpredictable, one thing is certain: Unless they close down, slaughterhouses and other animal-killing operations—in which dangerous viruses and other animal-borne pathogens flourish—will continue to put everyone at enormous risk. By transitioning to producing exclusively vegan meat, Maple Lodge Farms and other meat producers can help prevent future outbreaks and protect people and animals around the world. PARKING: There’s some parking on the grass, opposite the slaughterhouse. Please be sure not to block the farmer’s gate.
Note: We will be taking precautions to ensure safe social distancing during this protest. All activists are asked to maintain a distance of 6 ft. from each other and wear a protective face mask.
