EARTH DAY ACTION TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called the latest IPCC Report “an atlas of human suffering and a damning indictment of failed climate leadership”. He warned that “delay means death”.
Scientists also note that animal agriculture is a leading cause of deforestation, greenhouse gases, habitat loss, and species extinction, which is why switching to a plant-based diet can make a HUGE difference for our planet.
Meat, dairy, eggs and other animal products have been removed as separate food groups on the revised Canada Food Guide since 2019.
If the world adopted a plant-based diet researchers estimate that our total agricultural land use would shrink from 4.1 billion hectares to 1 billion hectares. A reduction of 75%. Leading up to Earth Day, tell our government to show climate leadership and transition all federal food services and catering across the country to plant-based by the end of 2022.
