Please join us on Monday, March 27 for the court hearing for Andrew Blake, pig transport truck driver who struck and killed animal rights activist Regan Russell two and a half years ago at the entrance to Fearmans slaughterhouse during a Toronto Pig Save vigil.
Schedule:
8:00 pig vigil and banner drop at Appleby road north of Harvester Road at the bridge near Fearmans slaughterhouse
9:00 -12:00 noon courthouse vigil, Burlington courthouse at 4085 Palladium Way, Burlington, ON L7M 2A6
10:00 AM court hearing for Andrew Blake with Regan’s family
The charges laid against Andrew Blake are of “careless driving causing death”, a non-criminal offence. It’s shameful that someone can violently kill our beloved Regan and get away with it with a non-criminal charge.
We believe our darling Regan’s violent death is worthy of a more detailed, meticulous, intensive investigation than what culminated as a mere moment of “careless driving,” writes Bill Russell. You can read his full Op-Ed here: https://www.thespec.com/opinion/contributors/2023/03/19/regan-russells-father-seeks-justice.html
Regan deserves so much better. Her family deserves so much better. Therefore, we are inviting you to join us for the court date and demand that charges be upgraded.
Signs will be provided but feel free to bring yours. See you there.
