Burlington City Hall Rally for the Launch of the Plant Based Treaty

August 31 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Please join us on Tuesday, August 31st at the Burlington City Hall for the launch of the Plant Based Treaty inviting mayor Marianne Meed Ward and city councillors to endorse it.

The IPCC report that just came out is full of dire warnings about our future. What future we have for ourselves, our kids, our grandkids, and generations to come. Part of the solution is moving away from animal agriculture, and for that reason, the Animal Save and Climate Save Movement and many other climate and animal advocacy organizations are pushing out a new initiative called the Plant Based Treaty.

As a companion to UNFCC/ Paris Agreement we are urging governments to negotiate which will include the following three principles:

🌱 RELINQUISH: No land usage, ecosystem degradation or deforestation for the purpose of animal agriculture.

🌱 REDIRECT: An active transition from animal-based agricultural systems to plant-based food systems.

🌱 RESTORE: Restore key ecosystems and reforest the earth.

The website goes live on August 31 but you can find the landing page here:
