Anita Kranjc – Creating Social Change with the Save Movement
May 1 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Anita Kranjc is a Toronto-based animal rights activist, and the co-founder of Toronto Pig Save which started in 2010 as a group of activists who bore witness to pigs arriving in transport trucks at the slaughterhouse.Within months, the Save Movement became global with thousands of activists from all over the world doing vigils at the slaughterhouses to bring the stories of farmed animal victims to the public eye.Over the last few years, the Save Movement has started incorporating different tactics such as acts of civil disobedience, political campaigns, corporate pressure campaigns, and home demonstrations inspired by Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, and other civil rights activists who fought against massive injustices to bring social change.
Anita Kranjc will be joining us this Friday to discuss how the Save Movement has evolved over the last 10 years, what campaigns it’s currently involved in, and what future she believes the AR movement hold.
Join us this Friday at 8:00 PM EST.
