Animal Rebellion joins Global Rebellion

October 7 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

The International Day of Rebellion lead by Extinction Rebellion is finally here and we need as many of you as possible to come out and have our voices heard!

We will be standing in solidarity with Extinction Rebellion Toronto and demanding the government to tell the truth, act now and allow a transition to a citizen’s assembly. We are concentrating on bringing messages of system change and about the effects of animal agriculture on the climate crisis.

We will be meeting this week to paint your recycled shirts with the Animal Rebellion logo and be prepared for Monday- keep a look out for that event page!

BACKGROUND

In October 2018, the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warned that we have twelve years to avoid catastrophic climate disaster. The situation is urgent, and we need to act now, and we need our governments to act now.

REBEL BEYOND BORDERS – INTERNATIONAL REBELLION
In October 2018, we declared The Rebellion.
In April 2019, we declared The Emergency.
In October 2019, we will declare The Truth.

Starting on Monday, October 7th, we are joining together as a global family in an International Rebellion as we grieve the suffering and destruction of our beautiful world.

We will gather with our communities across cities, countries, and continents, to rise up and rebel for our deep love of life and the need to protect it.

EXTINCTION REBELLION’S KEY DEMANDS
1. Government must tell the truth by declaring a binding climate and ecological emergency, and by working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.
2. Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
3. Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.
